Mark’s Antichrist Gospel

Mark vs John on Jesus’ Divinity, Signs, and Crucifixion

About this video

Why do traditionalists defend Mark as inspired Scripture while atheist scholars argue Markan priority? What if Mark is responding to an earlier Johannine “Testimony of John”? Does Mark’s opening omit John 1’s “Word became flesh” to deny Jesus’ incarnation? Why does Mark portray John’s baptism as “forgiveness of sins,” have John baptize Jesus, and shift the dove/Spirit witness from John to Jesus? Why does Mark depict Jesus as limited in power and knowledge (unable to do miracles, needing two attempts to heal, asking “Who touched me?”, not knowing the day or hour)? Why does Mark’s Jesus reject being called “good,” insist on secrecy, and ask for the cup to pass unlike John? Why include the transfiguration, and does Mark’s crucifixion narrative suggest Simon of Cyrene was crucified, aligning with Basilides and Nag Hammadi texts? Why does John emphasize signs for belief while Mark says no sign will be given?

“But Jesus, turning and looking at His disciples, rebuked Peter and said, ‘Get behind Me, Satan! For you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.’”

Mark 8:33, BSB

“Now Simon of Cyrene, the father of Alexander and Rufus, was passing by on his way in from the country, and the soldiers forced him to carry the cross of Jesus.”

Mark 15:21, BSB
